Begun in 1989, Max Cannon's Red Meat is one of the most popular independent comic strips today, currently appearing in over 75 alt weeklies and college papers in the U.S. and abroad. Usually bizarre, sometimes tasteless, always delightfully twisted, cheerfully dark, and laugh-out-loud funny, it features a cast of beloved, repulsive freaks.
Max Cannon
Max Cannon was born in England, but has lived most of his adult life in Tucson, Arizona. He is the author of three cartoon book collections from St. Martin's Griffin, and his award-winning alternative comic strip, Red Meat, appears in over 80 print publications worldwide. He recently produced the animated series "Shadow Rock" for Comedy Central.
