Renowned cartoonist Drew Litton satirically slam-dunks one of America's greatest passions - sports.
Drew Litton
Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Litton began his career at the age of four by drawing in crayon on his brother's bedroom wall, and refined his craft by sketching in the margins of his school notebooks. Litton's ability to render scathing caricatures of teachers and then weasel his way out of the trouble those drawings caused paved the way for him to attend UTEP and work as a staff artist at the El Paso Times before becoming the Rocky Mountain News' first sports editorial cartoonist in 1982. In 1994, the National Cartoonists Society honored Litton with a Reuben award as the nation's best sports cartoonist.
He remained at the Rocky for 27 years, until it closed in early 2009. Six months later, he was hired by the Tribune, where he creates his weekly cartoon "The Main Event," focusing on local Chicago sports. His cartoons have appeared in Sports Illustrated, Inside Sports, USA Today and The New York Times.
