GoComics® and Andrews McMeel Publishing Return to New York Comic Con With Creator Signings & Giveaways

Cartoon/comic creators will autograph at the convention show floor booth (#821) and offer free GoComics.com PRO subscriptions October 11 - 14.


Kansas City, Mo. (October 3, 2012) – Andrews McMeel Universal (AMU) brands GoComics and Andrews McMeel Publishing return to New York Comic Con 2012 to share entertaining and thought-provoking comic strips, book collections and creator interactions with the New York Comic Con guests. 
The brands will converge at New York Comic Con Booth #821 displaying:

  • Select books, including The Oatmeal’s new release, How to Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting to Kill You, Jasontron: 2012: A FoxTrot Collection by Bill Amend, and several titles from the new AMP! Comics for Kids series, including Big Nate Makes the Grade.
  • GoComics.com’s offerings of the world’s largest collection of syndicated and Web comics. Updated daily, the online catalog includes iconic comic strips such as Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, Garfield and FoxTrot to popular comics such as Pearls Before Swine, Get Fuzzy and The Argyle Sweater.
  • Scheduled one-hour free print signings by Ed Allison (Unstrange Phenomena), Bill Amend (FoxTrot), Ruben Bolling (Tom the Dancing Bug), Matt Inman (The Oatmeal), Brooke McEldowney (9 Chickweed Lane; Pibgorn), Corey Pandolph (The Elderberries, Barkeater Lane and TOBY), Lincoln Peirce (Big Nate) and Mark Tatulli (Lio; Heart of the City).

Social media will play a major role in #NYCC outreach for the AMU teams. GoComics, part of Universal Uclick, will use their Twitter presence (@GoComics) to tweet from the convention floor, visually and descriptively sharing the experience with the 40,000+ followers worldwide that may not be able to attend. NYCC guests and @GoComics followers can keep track of the conversation using the hashtag “#GoComics”. GoComics will also share photos and posting via Facebook, Tumblr and Instagram.
Comic Con attendees who visit the booth and show a social media message sharing information about Andrews McMeel Publishing’s releases or the #GoComics hashtag will receive a free three-month GoComics.com PRO subscription, allowing the users to get an unlimited amount of comics emailed to them daily.
