Universal Uclick Editorial Creators Translate and Entertain This Election Season

Political Comics & Columnists Take Center Stage as Conventions and Debates Near

Kansas City, Mo. (August 13, 2012) – The November election season is quickly approaching with a heavy focus on the presidential campaigns.  As a result, editorial cartoonists and columnists will have a greater influence and relevance in the coming months, as they become a point of reference for people looking to engage in the political conversation.

Through their work, editorial creators will become storytellers and translators to the public this fall.  They will allow viewers and readers to better discern their own positions and discuss the current political climate.

Universal Uclick is host to a slew of political perspectives, ranging from the extremely liberal, to the very conservative and every leaning in between.  Editorial creators such as Ted Rall, Donna Brazile, Matt Davies, Ann Coulter and Robert Ariail will have much to comment on in their upcoming content.

Cartoonist and 2012 Pulitzer Prize finalist Matt Bors says, “Election coverage has devolved into gaffes, perceived gaffes, and invented outrages. I see it as my job to avoid horse race politics and dig deeper into issues.”

The work of Bors and his contemporaries will allow readers to keep up with the election-year issues and provide comic relief in a time of information overload.

“My goal each day is to create a topical cartoon that is at once thought-provoking, humorous and well-drawn,” says award-winning cartoonist Robert Ariail.  “During the election season, the cartoons practically draw themselves and there’s plenty of humor to be found on both sides of the aisle.”

GoComics, a part of Universal Uclick, has developed new Facebook pages and Twitter accounts where fans of these political leanings can receive focused comics
that they are apt to share. These accounts will be used to share the most recent editorial content in a partisan fashion, along with our @GoComicsPolitix Twitter presence sharing current events illustrations.  For additional engagement, each account will give followers the chance to win signed print giveaways of political cartoons and engage with our creators via live-tweet sessions.  In addition to the Facebook and Twitter accounts, Universal Uclick has established politically leaning Pinterest boards to host edgy pro-right and pro-left editorial content.

Review their work daily for the most up-to-date and timely coverage of the elections and the surrounding political issues.  Our creators are available for interviews and outreach.  To schedule or check availability, please reach out to Gene Willis and Julia Gigliotti at Universal Uclick.
